Situated in the heart of Amesbury, this historic, Grade II Listed building, built in 1923 in the Queen Anne style, and set in three acres of attractive formal gardens and parkland, boasts beautiful, original, ornate features and will, without doubt, provide the perfect backdrop for your big day… not to mention all your photos – picture memories to last a lifetime!

For weddings, Antrobus House is hired on an exclusive use basis and affording couples, their family and friends privacy, it has two large function rooms; The Edmund Hall on the ground floor and The Lady Florence Room on the first floor – both rooms measure 8m x 13.5m.

The Edmund Hall, with its parquet flooring, wood panelling, floor to ceiling ornate windows and sumptuous drapes, is a light and airy space that lends itself perfectly to wedding receptions.  This room can accommodate up to 90 guests for a formal seated reception at 6' round tables, increasing to 150 guests for a more informal standing/seated evening reception.  It also has its own raised stage, which measuring 3m x 4m, is perfect for live music or a DJ.

There are two sets of double doors in the centre of the hall; one opening on to the lawned area at the front of the House, and the other opening on to the attractive Edmund Terrace at the rear of the House, overlooking the bowling green. 

The charming Lady Florence Room on the first floor, with stylish windows allowing the light to flood in, is perfectly suited to ceremonies*, relaxed drinks receptions or perhaps a chillout room, whilst everyone parties on downstairs. The Lady Florence Room is only accessible via stairs.

*whilst we are not a licensed wedding venue for legal ceremonies, non-legal, celebrant-led ceremonies may be conducted at Antrobus House.

Once you arrive at Antrobus House, it’s time to make your entrance! Step out of your wedding car and walk through our ornate wrought iron gates at the front and up the garden path towards the House - your guests will ALL be gathered together in excitement, waiting to greet you. 

The double-lawned garden at the front of the House offers couples plenty of space and is extremely versatile.  Weather permitting, you and your guests may like to enjoy ‘al fresco’ welcome drinks and canapés here, prior to taking your seats inside for your wedding breakfast… and as mentioned before, this area provides plenty of photo opportunities, with the House your perfect backdrop. 

With shrubs and bushes all around, our front garden can also be used for garden games, a chillout area for guests and is large enough to accommodate a bouncy castle, or even a small marquee.

Our attractive Edmund Terrace at the rear of the House, overlooking the bowling green is a great place to have your wedding bar and/or outside catering, so if you’re planning a more ‘relaxed’ wedding and are considering a BBQ, Hogroast, Wood-Fired Pizza, Fish ‘n’ Chips or any other kind of outdoor ‘Street Food’, your caterers can all be easily accommodated here. Another private spot to chill, enjoy drinks and catch up with your guests, it’s just off the Edmund Hall and therefore conveniently just a small hop away from the Dance Floor!

We also have extensive lawns with beautiful mature trees beyond the bowling green, offering plenty more photo opportunities - Antrobus House and its grounds are much bigger than you might think!

Having recently undergone an extensive £500K renovation, Antrobus House is now open and available to hire, having been completely refurbished throughout.  A modern heating system has been installed, there is a brand new commercial kitchen as well as all-new toilets, disabled and baby-changing facilities.

The building has also been given a complete makeover with new décor throughout, new full-length curtains in the Edmund Hall, a new parquet floor, refurbished radiators, refurbished wood panelling and a stylish new fire escape has been installed from the Lady Florence Room on to the Edmund Terrace at the rear of the building.  Antrobus House has never looked better!

A brand new wi-fi system, alarm system and new CCTV cameras have all been fitted.

Antrobus House is licensed for the sale of alcohol and live entertainment.  Our appointed Licensee will provide a fully-staffed bar for you, the cost of hire is payable direct to them and is just £75.  A small charge for corkage applies if you would like to supply your own wine/champagne for toasting – this is normally £1.50/bottle to include glassware.  It’s not possible to arrange/book an external bar/provide your own bar, including any free bars.

With the exception of the bar, we do not have ‘preferred suppliers’ so you have freedom of choice as to which suppliers you wish to book. However, we will be only too pleased to recommend suppliers to you, should you wish.  Our ‘Little White Book of Weddings’ is brimming with fantastic local wedding experts we know, love and trust.

Our exclusive-use wedding package represents excellent value for money and competitively priced at just £1300 +VAT, it includes the following :

• exclusive use of the whole building to include the Edmund Hall (ground floor) and the Lady Florence Room (first floor), 12noon to midnight on the day (earlier access by prior arrangement)
• exclusive use of the whole building to set-up the day before (4 hours, up to 9pm)
• exclusive use of the grounds at the front of the House
• exclusive use of the Edmund Terrace and lawns at the rear of the House
• services of an experienced wedding co-ordinator with a wealth of expert knowledge to help you with your planning in the lead up to your big day
• tables (6’ rounds and 6’ trestles)
• banqueting chairs
• use of a fully appointed industrial kitchen with all new appliances
• large private car park, with disabled bays and overnight parking, if required
• PRS/PPL music licences
• wi-fi
• room set-up and clean up
• duty manager throughout the duration of the hire period

*our hire charges are reviewed annually in January, so any 2019/2020/2021 weddings booked with a deposit paid before 31 December 2019, will be charged the prices quoted above.  From 1 January 2020, it’s possible that our hire charge for weddings will increase – however, any increase will not apply to 2019/2020/2021 weddings already booked with deposits paid before 31 December 2019.
